Torres del Paine Itinerary 2026

Day-by-day plans for 3, 5, and 7 days — organised to make the most of your time.

The W Trek

The definitive Torres del Paine experience — five days covering the three arms of the W.

Day 1 Puerto Natales — Park Entry — Grey Glacier

Bus from Puerto Natales to the park (2.5h). Catamaran across Lago Pehoé to Paine Grande refugio. Afternoon: hike to Grey Glacier viewpoint and back (3h). Night at Paine Grande.

💡 Tip: Book the afternoon catamaran (2pm) from the CONAF administration office or online at Fantastico Sur.
Day 2 Grey Glacier Full Day — Ice Experience

Full-day hike to the glacier face (8h return from Paine Grande). Optional: the ICE boat ride and mini-trekking on the glacier surface — one of the great Patagonia experiences.

💡 Tip: Book the glacier walk through Fantastico Sur well ahead; it departs at set times regardless of how many bookings there are.
Day 3 Valle del Francés — Mirador Británico

Hike from Paine Grande across to the Italian campsite and up through Valle del Francés to Mirador Británico — the best viewpoint in the park (9h total). Overnight at Cuernos refugio.

💡 Tip: The Mirador is worth the extra 2 hours each way; the panorama of hanging glaciers and condors is extraordinary.
Day 4 Cuernos to Chileno — Base Torres

Hike from Cuernos refugio to Refugio Chileno (3h). Drop packs and hike the final section to Base Torres (2.5h up, 2h down) — the emerald lake and granite towers.

💡 Tip: Start the Base Torres hike at 2pm to hit the best afternoon light on the towers.
Day 5 Return to Puerto Natales

Return hike to park exit and bus back to Puerto Natales. Shower, laundry, and a celebratory dinner at El Asador Patagónico.

💡 Tip: La Última Esperanza restaurant in Puerto Natales does the best king crab (centolla) in Patagonia — book for your return dinner.
