Iguazu Falls Travel Guide

The world's most breathtaking waterfall system

🎯 Things To Do 🗓️ Itinerary 🏨 Where To Stay

About Iguazu Falls

Straddling the border of Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls is a collection of 275 individual waterfalls stretching nearly 3 kilometres across the Iguazu River. The thunderous roar and perpetual rainbow mist of the falls — particularly the awe-inspiring Devil's Throat — make this a truly humbling natural spectacle. Eleanor Roosevelt famously exclaimed "Poor Niagara!" upon first seeing them, and most visitors agree.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which side of Iguazu Falls is better — Argentine or Brazilian? +

Both sides offer different experiences and both are worth visiting. The Argentine side puts you among the falls on elevated walkways and offers the boat ride into the spray. The Brazilian side delivers the sweeping panoramic view of all 275 cataracts simultaneously. Visit both if possible.

How long do I need at Iguazu Falls? +

Two full days is ideal — one day on the Argentine side and one on the Brazilian side. One day is possible but you will only see one side.

Do I need a passport to see both sides of Iguazu Falls? +

Yes — crossing from Argentina to Brazil (or vice versa) requires a full passport and immigration formalities. US, Canadian, and Australian citizens may need to pay a Brazilian visa fee. Check current requirements for your nationality.

What is the best time to visit Iguazu Falls? +

August to November offers the best combination of lower crowds, comfortable temperatures, and good water flow. March to May has the highest water volume after rainy season but can also mean the Devil's Throat walkway closes temporarily.
