Day-by-day plans for 3, 5, and 7 days — organised to make the most of your time.
Four days at a lodge on an Amazon tributary, operated by expert naturalist guides.
Fly to Iquitos (the world's largest city unreachable by road). Speedboat transfer (1–2h) to your jungle lodge. Afternoon acclimatisation walk with your naturalist guide — first wildlife encounters.
5:30am bird walk in primary forest — extraordinary diversity at dawn. After breakfast: canoe into flooded várzea forest, looking for sloths, monkeys, and caimans. Afternoon: piranha fishing.
Morning: visit to a Bora or Huitoto indigenous community — medicinal plant walk and craft demonstration. Evening: night canoe for caiman spotting — eyes glowing red in the torchlight.
Final morning: boat to a pink river dolphin feeding site — the best chance for close encounters. After lunch, speedboat back to Iquitos and evening flight out.
