About Treehouse Lodge

Sleeping in the rainforest canopy — 10 to 35 metres above the jungle floor — is an experience with no equivalent anywhere in the world. The Treehouse Lodge's six suspended houses are accessible by rope bridge and spiral staircase, each positioned within the canopy to maximize wildlife encounters: howler monkey families at eye level, giant otters hunting in the river below, and a soundscape of birds and insects that renders sleep both challenging and utterly memorable.

  • Howler monkeys at eye level in the morning
  • Giant river otter family on the river daily

Before You Book

🦟
Insects

The Amazon at canopy level has insects. Mosquito nets are provided on all beds. Long sleeves and repellent (30% DEET minimum) are essential at dawn and dusk. This is part of the experience, not a deterrent.

🔋
Off-Grid

The lodge runs on a generator (evening only) and has no WiFi. Charge everything in Iquitos before departure. Embrace the disconnection.

💊
Malaria Prophylaxis

Malaria is present in the Peruvian Amazon. Consult your doctor at least 4 weeks before travel about prophylactic medication. The lodge provides mosquito nets and repellent.

📦
What to Bring

Light, breathable long-sleeved clothing; waterproof bags for electronics; headtorch; binoculars; waterproof sandals or light hiking shoes; 100% DEET repellent; sunscreen.

Tips from Our Team

Accept that you will not sleep well the first night — the sounds of the rainforest at night are overwhelming and extraordinary. By night two it becomes the best sleep of your life.
Bring earplugs for when you want quiet, and remove them when you want the full Amazon experience.
The 5am birdwatching walk is non-negotiable — the one hour after dawn is when the Amazon is at its most alive.
Pack light — access is by small boat and the treehouses have limited storage. Leave heavy luggage in Iquitos.
